The process of making Pho is so laborious, so what if one wants to have a quick bowl at home without having the day to invest. My son, Qman wants Pho all the time so I felt the need to improvise for a quick version. Usually, I would buy beef bones, burn the onion, skim the broth......
But when when Qman needs a quick fix this is what the Dust does
Take one can of Campbel's Condense beef broth, add 2 cups of water to it
Add some saigon cinnamon or whatever cinnamon that you have, add a little clove, ginger and star anise
Add some fish sauce and hoisin to taste
Grill some beef ( rare) , since this will give the beef a deeper flavor
Get some rice sticks going.
Add it all up and garnish with basil, onion and burnt onion
Throw in a little sauteed baby bok choy
And lastly claim the glory
